General Manager Report
Update as of February 25, 2010

Weekly YLOA/YSPUC GM Report, data as of 2/25/2010

Administration/I.T.
A/R Collections Project: February’s target is $22,000. As of February 20, monthly collections totaled $15,782.

Facilities
Our 2010 Roadside Spray program will commence as soon as we receive stable weather allowing the application of the chemicals. Our staff has completed its training in preparation for the project. We will include the spraying for the YSPUC facilities.

We have ordered the materials for the Clubhouse Fireside Room Blinds. The Ladies of the Lake have donated $950 towards the project. We thank the L.O.L. for their very generous donation, and extend our appreciation for their continuing efforts in promoting a better quality of life in YLP.

Water Company/YSPUC
Our organization is a member of the Madera County Water Resources Subcommittee. The Subcommittee met last week on February 9 to address the Subcommittee’s priority goals in support of the Madera County Water Advisory Commission. We will be taking the role of task force coordinator for the subcommittee’s two projects this year.

Our company is also a Signatory for the Madera Region Water Management group. We are working on draft By-Laws for this group. Our next meeting is on March 15, the location is still to be determined.

We have contracted with Water Resources & Information Management Engineering (WRIME) to assist in the preparation and submittal of a Local Groundwater Assistance Fund Grant application (AB303) with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR.)

Upcoming CDPH Inspection:
The CDPH is required to provide a periodic inspection of water systems to ensure an acceptable level of system operation and maintenance. According to our assigned engineer, they endeavor to inspect each water system at least once every three years. Water systems experiencing problems can expect to be inspected more frequently. Our system was last inspected in 2004. This is an indicator that the State is happy with our performance.

On January 28th we received an email from our CDPH engineer indicating a request to coordinate dates for an annual inspection pursuant to a revised permit, where the inspector reviews all well sites and tanks. We are coordination the dates for March 11th.

Our preparation includes pre-inspection “dry run” to identify items that may need to be addressed. Our preparation may include from minor repairs (i.e.: broken or leaking ball valves/faucets, damaged fencing, etc) to housekeeping needs such as weed eating and picking up trash.

Security/Safety (written by Joseph Shreve)
This report covers the period of February 17 through February 2010. During this period, Security conducted  house checks. Security also conducted frequent and random checks of YLOA and YSPUC amenities, structures and properties. Security conducted the Association related duties as assigned by the Association Office.

Wildlife Report:
No significant new sightings or herd/pack movement. Golf course deer are still in numbers in the basin. The center area coyote pack is still very vocal at night and sightings of them during the day are still happening. Be sure to protect your small animals in this area.

Joseph’s Safety and Security Corner:               A reminder to current resident’s and a “heads up” to new residents: addresses in the Park are difficult to find, especially at night for security and emergency/law enforcement responders. Please make sure your address is plainly visible from the street. A reflective sign at the street is the best, especially during inclement weather. As you have read many times in these reports, security responds to medical calls and marks the address with the patrol truck so EMS can get right to the address without slowing to look for it. Please assist all of us by having your address plainly visible at the street.
