Mainline Replacement Project 9-2009
MAINLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT 2009-01-09 – 3,300 L.F. Main Line Replacements on Horseshoe Dr. between Roaring River Dr. and Corral Dr. and Corral Dr. From Horseshoe Dr. To 1000’ North of Titan Dr.
MAINLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT 2009-02-10 – 3,750 L.F. Main Line Replacements on Corral Dr. From Horseshoe Dr. South to Stetson Dr.
The Yosemite Spring Park Utility Co. Board of Directors has approved the two mainline replacement projects referenced above, and has awarded the contract to J.B. Travis Construction. We expect construction to begin during the week of September 28, 2009.
Construction of these projects may cause inconveniences for our residents and travelers in the project area for several weeks. Additionally, we understand that Corral Drive is a normal route of travel for many residents living outside the immediate project area and using this road as an expeditious means of travel to their homes. We request and appreciate that, whenever possible during this construction schedule, you use an alternate route away from Corral Drive. By reducing the amount of through-traffic and related work stoppages, we will expedite and complete the project with the least amount of inconvenience for our residents and guests.
While this project will produce inconveniences and possible frustration for our community, we believe that our community appreciates the benefits. These sections of pipeline failed many times in the past several years with 20 mainline repairs occurring since 2006. With each previous line failure in this area, the potential to affect the community well outside of the area of the failure was extended. Once we install these new pipelines, we will provide more assurance that these sections and adjoining areas will no longer fail, thus reducing the number of frustrating disruptions and loss of productivity.
Please note that our plan includes the asphaltic concrete paving of the project roadways immediately upon the conclusion of the pipeline installation and inspection efforts.
We thank you in advance for your patience during this construction project and ask that you remain alert while driving and reduce your speed when traveling through this, or any other construction zone.
